There are a variety of opportunities for you to participate at UNITY '08, through dialogue, educational sessions and networking events.

Joint Candidates Forum
One of the largest draws of UNITY ’08, this discussion between the Democratic and Republican frontrunners will be held on Thursday evening.  The candidates will address questions from a panel of working journalists representing all four alliance partners.

Panel Breakfasts
A powerful, spirited discussion held before the day’s events, the panel breakfasts will cover key topics important to journalists and communities of color.

Media Showcase & Career Expo
The centerpiece of UNITY ’08, the Media Showcase & Career Expo will feature over 400 recruiters from print, broadcast and online industries, as well as exhibitors representing a variety of journalism schools, non-profit organizations, and companies of interest to journalists of color.  EXPO attractions include:
o Career Resource Center – workshops, critiques, and more!

Special Events
There are many special events going on at UNITY ’08 from the opening ceremony to banquets to the closing party.  Each evening will offer at least one specialized social event for you to meet other journalists of color, and network with members of all four alliance associations.  Convention special events will include:

Opening Ceremony and Reception 
The Opening Ceremony celebrates the beginning of the convention with cultural aspects of the four alliance organizations and represents a vibrant intersection of the diverse cultures within UNITY. A reception will follow at the Field Museum where you can meet with new and old friends and celebrate the beginning of UNITY ‘08.
